Wedding Season...for all those beautiful brides to be!

Along with the sunshine and warmer weather fast approaching so is wedding season. My favorite time of year! As a makeup artist its such an honor to be apart of a brides special day:) and I have decided to post some tips to help you look as amazing as possible.

Tip #1 Your skin is the main player in how your makeup is going to look on your big day. So drink lots of water, get plenty of rest and avoid the sun and tanning beds as much as possible in the week prior to your wedding. No matter how great the makeup burned distressed skin will always show in photos. If you plan on getting a facial prior to the wedding day I recommend doing this at least one week before the wedding and if you have never had one one month prior to the wedding...simply because if your skin has a negative reaction to the facial you will want to give it plenty of time to heal. Now there are at home remedies that you can do to calm your skin and help it heal if a reaction does occur and I will talk about those things at a later date:) and PLEASE please DO NOT pick your face! To simply put it no good will come out of picking your face...so DONT do it!

Tip #2 If you plan on going to a counter or hiring a makeup artist, I highly recommend requesting a trial run if a trial run is not offered. I include a trial run with my bridal package and chances are I would not to a brides makeup on the big day without one. This is your day and its a day you and all your loved ones will remember the rest of your life. With all the planning and attention to detail that goes into picking out a dress and a venue and flowers why would you skimp on the makeup? Dont be afraid to experiment. Look through magazines and websites and collect pictures of makeup you love as well as makeup you hate. A picture really is worth a thousand words and it will give your makeup artist a clear picture of what you want. When a bride hires me for her day I make sure that we get the look just perfect and if that means we try 20 different looks or ideas than so be it. and if you come across a makeup artist or counter that wont give you the attention you deserve then dont be afraid to change your mind. This is YOUR day!

Tip #3 Be yourself! If you want to wear blue eyeshadow up to your eyebrows on your wedding day than do it. Dont worry about what great granny is going to say because like I keep saying this is YOUR day! You will never regret being yourself but chances are you will regret being someone your not. So forget about the overbearing mother in law to be, or your over opinionated bridesmaid. Just be you. There is nothing more beautiful than that:)
